Seems like more and more film crews are popping up in San Telmo. Whether they’re for commercials or movies, I don’t know. Coming back from Walrus Books late Sunday afternoon we saw that the corner of a popular tourist hangout, Bar El Federal, had been transformed into a piece of London.
We came across the site just as the final scene was being filmed. There’s the black taxi from London and the actress in a hooded black outfit. Off to the left was a guy holding a water hose that produced the “rain”.
And notice the fake street sign on the side of Bar El Federal as calle Perú momentarily became Peter Street, City of Westminster.

Jeff ”“ Funny thing about commercials in BsAs. When I lived in BA I belonged to Ferrocarril Oeste, a sports club in Caballito (their soccer team is in the Nacional B, but won the national championship in 82 and 84). I once went to work out there on a Sunday morning to find the soccer field painted with American football lines. I asked someone what was going on, and they told me Gatorade was shooting a commercial for their Chinese market. It was such an odd thing: an American company shooting an American sport in Buenos Aires for the Chinese to enjoy.

The same group may have been filming in Once last weekend! All done up in 1920s costume in a fenced-off private apartment area on Rivadavia. They had quite a crowd watching.
