I’m a Bass Baritone in London and would love to know when auditions are taking place for positions in the Opera Chorus. Or any other small roles in and out of the Colon.

Hi Mark,

The auditorium you went to is called Luna Park. Great to hear that the sound was so good. But seems like now performances are taking place at Teatro Coliseo, which is a more appropriate setting though I’m not sure about the acoustics. So, the Teatro Colon company is still performing while the theater is under renovation but I didn’t see anything on the schedule for the time you’re here other than The Nutcracker during the week before Christmas.

in december of ’06 my wife and i attended a performance of Il Travatore that was held at an auditorium near puerto madero. i remember it was a short walk from the nh hotel on corrientos. the place was like a gym, but the audio engineering and microphone placement for the performance was the most incredible that i have ever experienced. i have heard performances in some of the better u.s. opera houses that weren’t as good.
we are going to be in buenos aires before christmas and a few days in january. does the opera company still perform during the renovation? i can’t find anything about their schedule.
any info that you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated., thanks
